Our Legacy
Hariom’s Tailoring was established 70 years ago by our grandfather, Navalrai T Vaswani. He instilled a house philosophy built on premium standards of cutting and tailoring, creating quality bespoke and made-to-measure garments and became a fast favorite amongst Jakarta’s elite. As the family business passes from generation to generation, we at Hariom’s take great efforts to keep his philosophy alive and thriving.
Our master cutters have over 30 years of experience and are complimented by talented young tailors. We balance our core bespoke tailoring traditions with modern styles. Bridging the classic with the contemporary, we are Hariom’s tailoring and textile – still a favorite amongst gentlemen.
Our Craft
A handcrafted suit at Hariom’s takes approximately 55 Hours to create and evolves from a variety of traditional elements. Full canvas pre-washed for the best results, shaped collars and padded lapels. Yards of the finest fabrics and lining and cotton threads. We finish off with the hand detailing of your choice – pick stitching, functional button holes, mother of pearl buttons, embroidery of names and many more. All these elements are carefully stitched and fused together, by hand, and with a sense of creative harmony.
On the front end, our master cutters engage fully with you – taking time to consult, to measure, to find the best matched cloth, multiple fittings if necessary, and also taking time to weigh out the investment being made in your wardrobe and appearance. The return on this investment is a garment that will last a lifetime and give a lifetime of pleasure, the Hariom’s suit.
Our Materials
The Hariom’s textile inventory houses over 3000 varieties. We have different textures, patterns and price-points to suit different tastes and accommodate different budgets. Some of the distinguished brands we carry include Cerruti, Vitale Barberis Canonico, Guabello, Ermenegildo Zegna, Guabello, Soktas and Loro Piana to name a few. Most clients however leave it to the trusted expertise of our master cutters to match the best-fitted fabrics and accessories.
